Who we are

Asimah Interiors is a virtual interior design studio based in Ontario, Canada, operated by Asimah (“I”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect through asimahinteriors.com and our design services, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact form: your name, email address, the rooms or package you’re interested in, and your message.
• Design questionnaire: your name, email, location, room details and dimensions, budget range, style preferences, inspiration links, and notes about your home.
• Photos and files: room photos, measurements or sketches you email to us.
• Bookings and payments: your name, email, billing details and order history. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

• Technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider records basic information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, for security and to keep the site running.
• Cookies: small files used to keep the site working (for example, remembering items in your cart or keeping you signed in) and, if enabled, to understand how visitors use the site. See “Cookies and analytics” below.

How we use your information

• To reply to your enquiries and help you choose a package.
• To create, deliver and revise your design plan.
• To process bookings and payments, and keep records required for accounting and tax purposes.
• To send messages about your project, such as confirmations and delivery of your design.
• To improve our website and services.
• To send occasional design tips or offers, only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We only collect what we need for these purposes, and we use your information with your consent or as permitted by law.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed:

• Website hosting (our site is hosted by HostGator).
• Payment processors that handle card payments securely.
• Email and productivity tools we use to communicate with you and prepare your design.
• Analytics tools, if enabled, to understand website traffic.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Where your information is stored

Some of our service providers are located outside Canada, including in the United States. Your information may therefore be stored or processed in those countries and may be accessible to their authorities under local law.

Cookies and analytics

Essential cookies are needed for the site and checkout to work. If we use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), they set cookies that help us understand which pages are visited, in aggregate. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work properly without them.

Shopping and affiliate links

Design plans and pages on this site may link to third-party retailers. Some of these may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you, if you make a purchase. Retailers have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.

How long we keep it

We keep project information for as long as needed to provide your design and support any follow-up questions, and financial records for as long as required by Canadian tax law (generally six years). Enquiries that don’t lead to a project are deleted after about two years. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, subject to legal requirements.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections, password-protected accounts and limiting access to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if required by law in the event of a breach.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent to its use (which may affect our ability to provide services). You can also unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. To make a request, email info@asimahinteriors.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you have concerns about how we handle your information, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with its effective date.
